Description:
7/30/2010:One month in foster care and Bacardi has grown larger and sweeter. He kisses foster mom as other foster pups nibble. He comes when called as the others run in the other direction, He will crawl slowly in his foster moms lap as the others are chewing her hair and jumping on her. He sits for treats, stays still when getting his leach attached and goes in his crate when you ask. Bacardi is a SWEET, CALM, LOVABLE little pup.. waiting for just the right person or family to love him as much as he wants to love you. He is great with other dogs, cats and kids. He is eager to learn and get a last name. 7/15/2010: Mr. Bacardi is something else; with 12 foster puppy siblings the food bowl can get very crowded. Well, Mr. Bacardi doesn't push his way in. NOOOO he is too much of a gentleman. Nope he just sits behind and barks at his human friends to get another bowl just for him. Human friends being too tired to get another bowl just for him, he will eat puppy food happily from their hands. He will complain when another pup takes away his pine cone but would never try to take it back or fight for it. He's a lover not a fighter! The second largest of his litter and a sweet, sweet, boy! He was rescued with his other siblings Bernetts, Bacardi and Tequila. They are one of the sweetest set of pups their foster has had the pleasure of caring for (they have fostered many, many litters) All of them are playful, yet calm. They give licks and have yet to nibble fingers. Often times you can find one awake when the rest are sleeping just keeping watch. They notice simple things like a bird overhead, a sprinkler in the next yard or bug on the ground. Not overly barky but very aware! They have a true lab personality, watchful, playful, loyal, and smart! He and his siblings were rescued from an overfilled shelter in Georgia, being all black; they had little chance to be adopted. There are so many black pups and everyone loves the blondes! Rescue came just in time for them. On their way to Michigan, they caught colds and a cough. Medicated the day they arrived, they had a fighting chance; left there they would have been put down at the first sign of sickness. Smirnoff had a runny nose and a little cough. A little medication and he is all better! A good little boy that didn't mind his pills and drops. Mr. Bacardi just can't wait to lay his loving little eyes on the humans that will make him part of their family. He lives in Northville with his foster family and is already watching the garden walkway for them to arrive. If you want a fun, full of personality dog to-be. Adopt Bacardi. Please email LDDR Pound Puppies for more info on me. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of KC1 litter-Barcardi-ADOPTED (click to see larger version):
