An Update From Winslow 8/11/2010

Hello everyone! My name is Winslow and I want to start out by saying I am a great dog! I know that sounds like bragging but I just can't help it! I have been in a couple of different foster homes and I'm in search of a family that will love and cherish me forever. I get along great with other dogs and love to go to the dog park. When my foster mom pulls my leash out of the closet, I know exactly where I'm going and I jump right in the car. I ride great in the car (and I would love it if you open the windows for me too) and can drive distances as short as the store or as far as going up to Northern Michigan. I LOVE the water! I see the beach and I go running. I will happily chase a stick as many times in the water as you can throw it. I'm a very active dog looking for a very active family. I would really love to have a job to do. I am a working dog afterall and would love to try my paw at agility or possibly therapy if given the right training. I can be a bit on the protective side when it comes to my family and my doggie brothers and sisters so I need a patient and strong owner who will tell me what I need to do to be the best dog possible.  So if you think you can keep up with me and want to meet me and run your hands through my silky brown and gold fur, and stare deeply into my sparkly brown eyes I would love to meet you. I'll be waiting!

Winslow

Winslow is an exceptional pup! He is calm and submissive, yet plays just like the pup he is. Winslow had a very rough start. He had a bad case of hookworm that lead him to a specialty hospital and three blood transfusions. The doctors didn’t expect him to make it. The little fighter fought and survived. He was adopted to a family that said they would LOVE him FOREVER! Wanting to surprise their children with a Christmas puppy! Apparently forever was four short months. Fortunately, They must of done some things right. He’s a great little mellow guy! Sits by your side, walks by your side without a lead, well-mannered, good with cats, dogs and kids. Though we suspect he may have some apprehension around very small children.

The outstanding thing about Winslow other than his charming, calm behavior is his over the top soft hair!  Gorgeous! At 6 months being this good only great things ahead for him. +Winslow is just about fully grown and weights approximately 45lbs. He will be a faithful and loving companion!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
