UPDATE 4/7/10
Miss Nicole came to her foster, in pain from surgery, tired, hungry and scared. She had time all alone to recover for two weeks and when she was back at her foster. It was time to make friends and Play! She now has 3 dog friends she likes to play with, run around the yard with and roll in the grass with.

Sweet Nicole is a full grown 65 lbs Lab (extremely affectionate and devoted!)  About three years old.  She is an orphan. Her young owner passed away suddenly and now she finds herself homeless. She was to be taken to shelter however with the shelters so full there was a good chance she would not be adopted and simply put to sleep.  Her owner’s family has been desperate to find a home as they could not keep her. They contacted our rescue rather then subject her to all the dangers of a shelter.
Nicole has been a pet her whole-life, healthy and happy. She does need to be worked with as she is so enthusiastic. Nicole is 100% potty trained and is way past the chewing She is up to date with her shots and has recently been spayed.
Miss Nicole came to her foster, in pain from surgery, tired, hungry and scared and was not too happy with the three foster siblings waiting for her. She had time all alone to recover for two weeks and when she was back at her foster. It was time to make friends and Play! She now has 3 dog friends she likes to play with, run around the yard with and roll in the grass with. She’s a typical silly lab. Will follow you anywhere, likes to play tug of war and will hop on your lap if you let her.
It doesn't look like she had much attention as she needs to learn doggie She LOVES, LOVES just being with people. Runs to you and will sit as close as she can. On your lap if you will have her. Looks you in the eye with an I want to play and I love you! Look. She is full of energy but will settle well by your feet after she has greeted manners. But she is an extremely quick learner and so eager to please... almost looking for her next lesson. She knows sit, walks well with a harness and is housebroken. Dog training is recommended

She seems to have a special attraction to young people, however with her size would not be a good fit with small children, large and clumsy she could knock them down. A great compainion, family dog. Easy to meet at her foster home in Northville.

Please consider giving Little Orphan Nicole a forever home!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
