Description:

Little Spud was dropped off with his brother at a high kill Ohio shelter. From the moment they were left at the shelter they shook, scared so much they shook for days. Huddled together in the back of the cage until his lucky brother was adopted.  Leaving spud all alone. You see Spud has Cherry eye, it’s easily corrected but no one wanted to take on such a sorry looking pup. Not even the many other rescues  that took other dogs. Last Day was asked to save this pup and of course they did what they do best. Saved him on his last day! Spud was transported with dozens of other dogs and pups. When it was his turn to be brought out, he cried and hide under the van… shaking! Coaxed out and carried to a warm car he slowly stopped shaking, laid quietly in the passenger seat. He arrived in his Temperary foster home, had a bath, ate a little and hide in a crate- afraid of people, when anyone came near he would flinch and cry.

Next day was a big day for Spud… he visit a vet, got medications and plans to fix his eye. Spud got his own handsome collar and tag! Best of all He got a real name… Spudley!  Before this he was just #45

Fast forward two days… after patience and lots of loving attention… he runs to people, plays with his foster dogs and cats. And steals the heart of anyone that holds him. He LOVES laps! When you hug him… it almost feels like he hugs you back!  The very softest coat a total joy to pet! He is not an alpha and never will be, but he’s not submissive either. A confident little guy. Spudley is so longing for a forever home and forever family to love him his whole life long… He has communicated with his foster… that he never wants to see the inside of a shelter again! No Way! Does well in a crate, but prefers to be free to lay at your feet, sleep next to your bed and protect the house with his little bark when your not home.

Feb 15th he’s about 5 months old, and 24 lbs. not much growing is expected, he should stay under 35 lbs. Pretty calm for a pup and 99% housetrained.   Does well with other pets… dogs and cats… but will also be happy as your only pet.  Please consider making this sweet soul your forever fur friend!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
