Description:

Prince is doing great! He prefers to consider himself as one of the family members and not just a dog. Prince is a great jogging companion and will jog right next to you, or he loves to jog right next to a bicycle too. Hes very well behaved in the house and don't chew anything up, get into trash, jump on counters etc, and has the same good manners in the backyard, hes NOT a digger! Out of all 3 of the dogs, Prince is by far the best listener and his recall is amazing! Prince loves attention and people and gets to go the petstore with his foster mom, and everyone who meets him loves him! He's been waiting patiently for his forever home
Prince just keeps getting better and better!! He is no longer jumping on the door, and he can be walked now without his Halt-E! He is extremely smart and his list of commands that he knows keeps getting longer! Prince is also doing much better with his doggy friends. He may never be completely comfortable meeting new, larger dogs but it is a work in progress. He can become acclimated to them with a 1-2 day adjustment period, which is pretty standard with a lot of dogs. He is brilliant, loving and willing to please. Also, Prince is now on the appropriate food for his skin condition and it is now clearing up. He no longer needs to wear fleece collars! Prince is very popular within our rescue and we all will be very happy to see him go to his forever home!

Prince is currently 56lbs. and has a little sensitive skin issue which is remedied by having a healthy diet and wearing fleece collars. Prince loves to learn new tricks and he knows how to dance and go into his crate. His favorite things to do are to play with his Kong and cuddle with those who love him, he is a great sleeper and likes long walks. Prince always looks like he is smiling. He has a bulldog underbite and it makes the corners of his mouth turn upward. He uses his smile to brighten the entire house. He was a bait dog when he was a puppy and is terrified of being chained up to a tie out. His teeth were once broken, but not his spirit. He is such a loving boy that children fight over who gets to have him on the bed. Prince is working on not jumping on the door when he wants to come in. He doesn't realize how big he is sometimes. He is also working on meeting new dogs all the time. Pulling on his leash is a major issue that requires a training collar like a Gentle Leader or Halt-e. He is also being trained to kiss on command to his foster's 6 year-old son :)

Prince is a dog rescued from Macomb County when they very first began letting dogs go to rescue. He was just 6 months-old and so thin and ill that he almost died. However, he made a full recovery and was just a wonderful boy, so we named him Prince for his temperament.Prince was adopted and has been living happily in his home until the economy took its toll on his owners. They have lost their jobs and their home. It is with a heavy heart that Prince must return to rescue.

Due to his breed, a secure fence is required (he is not a dog who runs off, this is for his safety), as well as some prior dog experience. Prince is good with kids, cats and people of all sorts. He is a very cuddly and affectionate guy, desiring to be right next to his owner wherever that may be. The only issue he has is that he is not fond of meeting new, large dogs. He is great with small puppies and small lap dogs. Once he gets used to another large dog, he is fine, but will lunge and growl at new dogs who appear to be a physical threat. He currently lives with dogs of all ages, sexes, and sizes.

Prince is very smart and knows sit, lie down, to turn to the right, and is working on all sorts of tricks while in foster just because he catches on so fast. He is protective but not unfriendly to strangers.  His intelligence, loving nature, and loyalty all make him a wonderful dog for a home.

Note: You are applying for a dog that may or may not be considered a bully breed by certain counties. Please check breed specific legislation for your county, city, condo/apartment complex, and home owners association. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
