Description:
Thunder has a sad story to tell, you see we got a call that a pure bred chocolate lab needed a home badly or it was going to end up in the near by shelter who gasses to put their dogs down and they were full. Thunder's family had fell on hard times as so many are in Michigan and they had lost their home and were forced to move into an apartment that would'nt allow him to come along. So Thunder has spent the last 3 weeks in a boarding kennel while they looked to find someone to take him While he was there this magnificent dog lost 10 pounds grieving for his family . So when I met him today at the vets office he was so happy he could not contain himself his owner had picked him up and brought him to the vets to meet me where he was going to have to say good bye forever as he was surrendering him to the rescue to save him , with tears in his eyes he left Thunder at the vets with Thunder pawing at the doors and windows trying to follow him , racing from room to room looking for him . Let's give this great dog a happy ending. Thunder is about 5 years old a pure bred chocolate lab, he weighs 55 pounds but should gain 10 pounds when he is happy again , he is housebroke, and has lived with cats, kids, dogs and is not a chewer, What more could you ask for? He is darn well almost perfect! , . We will have better pictures later as he kept looking at his owner and I could not get good pictures of him but he is handsome and playful. His adoption fee is $200 Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Thunder - ADOPTED 09.19.09 (click to see larger version):
