Frisbee is a dog with a lot of personality! We are seeking an experienced owner for him because he does get into mischief if you don't keep him in line. He tends to chew things, especially when he is nervous. He "mouths" alot, kinda like a toddler.

PERFECTLY house broken.  Period.  Knows "sit", "shake", "down," "leave it" (to stop/redirect whatever he was doing), and "OK" (as a release from "leave it" or "wait".)  Sort of knows "wait," but still needs a little work with leash to make solid.  Counter surfs and gets into wastebaskets, especially if bored. Again, just a matter of occupying his attention.

Good with kids (in a home with kids ages 10, 12 & 12), but is probably recommended for a home without kids because of his size and because he will steal food from kids. Also he seems to be most interested in adults. He used to follow me around room to room and flop down in the nearest chair.  Probably a one or two-person dog, though he always wanted to join whichever children and dogs were in the yard playing.

Good with cats (though will chase, to play, which sometimes made me nervous).  Used to clean the kitty and NEVER bit/retaliated when that cat would scratch/bite him! Simply left.

Loves long lead-line, field work.  Good on an extension leash.  Knows "this way," VERY well, "let's go," and "come."  Fairly good with "stay close."  Used to walk him 30 min/day, and sometimes do long lead line work at the park with him.  He is interested in other dogs he sees, but responds well to verbal commands of "this way," "let's go" to avoid.  (I often avoid other dogs when everyone is on leashes.)  He never had a problem when meeting several neighborhood dogs, both on and off line.

Was not aggressive with my other two dogs, though my older dog decided that he didn't want Frisbee here. My other puppy would be by Frisbee nonstop trying to play. Frisbee dealt very well with that.

Needs good amount of attention. Tolerates crate, but doesn't like to be left alone. Loves car rides. Should probably be crated to avoid chew damages, esp. until he acclimates to a new household.

Frisbee has been working with a trainer on some of these issues, so we would love to see him go to a home that will continue to work with him. We will connect you with the trainer so you can continue his progress. He is a great dog who pays you back in love and affection.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
