Buck is amazing! He has coming along way in a short amount of time. Not much is known about his background; he was found as a stray with another dog. He was so fearful of people (and everything else) that he wouldn’t come out of his kennel for the first few days. He is slowly warming up and learning to trust. Buck needs someone that will invest the time to help him reach his full potential.
Buck is social but on his terms. He likes to be in the same room with others but often from a safe distance (under the bed or chair in the living room). Buck loves others friendly dogs; I think he feels more comfortable with them than people so far. Despite being fearful, he is very gentle. He is the most gentle dog I have ever seen when taking a treat.
Buck does great on walks and loves to explore. He does not like going in the car.
Buck had a consultation with an anima behaviorist and was prescribed some anti-anxiety meds. The meds cost about $30 for a 3-month supply. He may need to continue to takes these to help him calm down.
He seems to like kids but can be afraid if they are too loud or move too fast around him.
Buck is working on potty training. He will use potty pads and will go potty outside but doesn’t yet let us know when he needs to go out. Because of his background, he is a hoarder and likes to gather anything he can find. Sometimes he chews things up and sometimes he just collects them.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
