Description:

Sweety is 14 months old. She is crate-trained and house trained. Sweety is extremely smart and can be trained to do just about anything. She has been trained to jump into my son's top bunk, so he can cuddle with her.

She is athletic and requires a yard in addition to walks. If you admire and pursue Cesar Milan and his techniques, you will be able to train Sweety. She does take an experienced pet owner, as she is smart and a bit pushy with other dogs. She plays roughly with dogs and must be paired with a dog who is not  small. She will be possessive of food and bones with other dogs especially if they are not already her "bud." She has never attacked another dog and lives with other dogs and fosters. She has been attacked by another dog who was afraid of her rough play and did not attack back. She just needs someone who can understand her communication and remind her of boundaries and rules; she is still young and a dominant female bully. She would do great in a home with no other dogs, but can live with other dogs as long as her dominance behaviors are kept in check.

She is a hunter breed and will hunt rodents in the yard. She also is not good with cats for this reason.

Sweety is a great walking partner. She needs to be reminded not to pull on the leash, but once she remembers, she is a treat on walks. Sweety loves to climb under the covers and snuggle at night. She also likes to sleep in late with her "people." She will not wake you up at 6 a.m. to ask to go outside. She is strong and doesn't always realize her strength, so children should be over age 6 years-old. However, she adores children and follows them around the yard, gives kisses, greets them at the park and snuggles with them.

Her favorite thing to do beside walks, chewing bones and eating, is to lie in a window and watch the world go by outside. She is beautiful and loving. Please, consider this extra special bully for your dog-smart home.

Sweety's adoption fee is only $175.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
