BACKGROUND
Skipper is a young 1 yr. old he ia 37lbs of fun and playfulness, when he's around people all he wants to do is get to them for attention, a little love, and some play time. He is absolutely great with other dogs and children, he has a beautiful coat of soft dark rich brown fur and is a very cute smaller guy. Skipper looks at life like "what can I do next to entertain myself and others". We are not sure about cats yet. Skipper would make a great dog for someone who wants a dog who will pay attention to him by throwing a ball, walking and/or running together . He would benefit from obedience training with his new owner or at home. He seems to be a very smart boy. Skipper was found up north in a rural area outside during the coldest part of this last winter, his ears got a little frostbitten from that terrible experience but that doesn't matter to him he knows he's cute and would love to have a family of his own to snuggle with.
FOSTER COMMENTS: Skipper is not a dominant dog at all and all he wants to do is play, not fight with the other dogs. he bounces and gallops when he runs its so funny and he is so unique looking. He also plays a game of taking all the dog toys and chews and piling them up on the dog bed into a big heap and lying on top, he is so fun to watch. He is extremely friendly and fun to be around and seems to be housebroken Important things to know when contacting us:
Last Day Dog Rescue does not have a physical location. All dogs are placed in Foster homes until they are adopted. Last Day Dog Rescue is a volunteer based group, we all have full time jobs, and family commitments that we try and schedule in with our rescue work, so most of our work is done during our lunch hours, at night, or on the weekends. We do promise to get back to you as soon as we can.
Adoption process :
Please contact us about the dog you are interested in. We will get in touch with you to answer any questions you may have about them. At that time we can set up a time for you to meet him/her and get you an adoption application. After you meet your new friend, and decide to adopt, you will have to fill out the adoption application, there will be a Vet Check, and a Home Visit to see if this adoption is a good fit for you and the dog. The adoption fees range from $175 to $200 which is payable upon signing of the adoption contract (different than the adoption application). Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Skipper (click to see larger version):
