Description:
Shotzie means “sweetheart” in German. This is exactly the type of personality she has. You WILL love her! She is very human orientated. She will need another dog around to keep her company when her humans are not around. She preferably would need someone who is home more of the time, than not. She does have separation anxiety. Her current foster is working with her on this. She has two Bassett Hound foster siblings that she is very fond of. She likes to watch them play and teach her the ropes at her temporary home. Right now, she is on medicine for seizures that were reported to our rescue from her previous owners. We have never seen any seizures from her, so we are in the process of weaning her off the medicine to see how she reacts. The reported type of seizures that she has is where she is incoherent (not where she shakes). We will update her status once we have updated information on this. She cannot be left in a metal cage when she is home alone. She chews on the bars and has already damaged a couple of her teeth. She needs to be tethered to something heavy, so she still has free range for a short distance. Her foster tethers her to a coffee table that is very heavy. She is the sweetest snuggle dog around town. She is not a bed hog J She is good with Kids (preferably not under 3). She gets a little irritated when her foster’s son pulls her hair all the time and pokes her eyes. She is not aggressive, she just lets him know that she has had enough of the roughness. Could she be the sweetheart of your life???! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
