Description: MEET SCRUFFY!
Formally Sebastian. He was a stray that was rescued from animal control. When he was rescued, he had a horrible eye and ear infection and was severely matted. Despite all the pain he was in, he was just as friendly as he could be. Scruffy is a very sweet senior (about 8 years old) Lhasa Apso who would make a great companion for an older person or persons. He weighs 17 lbs but needs to put on a little more weight. He only has 4 teeth left but that does not affect his eating. He can devour a hard milk bone like he had a mouthful of teeth. He is a bit on the shy side due to all the changes he has experienced in such a short time. He probably would do better as an only dog as he really doesn't interact with other dogs~sniffs them and then moves on. He was definitely someones beloved pet at one time as he is housebroken and walks very well on a leash. He is also up to date on his shots and is neutered. He will probably have to be on eye drops for the rest of his life due to a dry eye syndrome which is very common in Lhasa's, but he will love you for the rest of his life. If you have big heart, please consider adopting Scruffy and give him the loving home he deserves after such a frightening experience at animal control. If you are interested in adopting Scruffy, please contact us. His adoption fee is $125.00. UPDATE: Scruffy hates to have meds put into his eyes and ears therefore he needs to be muzzled to do this. He needs a patient and understanding owner or foster home so he can get the love and stability that he was used to before ending up a Animal Control.

A Note from Last Day Dog Rescue:
This wonderful dog is just one of many in our care right now. Your sponsorship will help us provide shelter, food, vetting and tender loving care for our dogs until they find new loving homes. Adoption fees do not cover our expenses, so your sponsorship will make a positive impact on our organization and especially on our dogs well being. We are not a chapter or affiliate of any national animal organization. We are, moreover, very grateful for your generosity. Please click to sponsor this great dog! Thank you!
*DISCLAIMER:
We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.
*PLEASE NOTE:
We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.
*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION. *WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Scruffy (click to see larger version):
