The best word for Rosie is a Lady. She is a Bernese Mountain mix possibly with spaniel she has an extremely soft,   glossy, wavy coat. Rosie has a way of sitting and looking into your eyes with so much hope behind them that she made it into our rescue as the volunteers with us could not leave her behind. Rose was tied to a fire hydrant in front of the animal shelter. She appears to have been with a family and well cared for as she was nicely groomed but had not had her stitches out from being altered.   It is possible that she had given birth and they kept the puppies but not her.   Rose is around 5 years old and 80 lbs. about 5/10 lbs. overweight.   She finds her way to her foster sibling’s food (most have been puppies).

Rosie has been with her foster family for a few months.   They so fell in love with her and hoped to keep her forever as part of their family. Unfortunately, she likes more individual attention and the many dogs that they have cause Rosie a bit of stress.    She LOVES walks and LOVES, LOVES balls… seems to live for them. Walks around with one all the time… even though she is 5 she runs after a ball like she is a puppy!

Rosey is a perfect lady. When you call her she comes to you and sits at attention. When she is called in she stands at the door and waits for the OK to go all the way in the house, if you open the door for her to go out... she will not go until she is told “OK Rosie” She has lived months with cats and dogs. She loves watching the cats, loves to be near them, and lets them drink water from her bowl, while she is drinking.   She likes to play and be around other dogs, but does better in a home where she can be the only dog.

Her favorite thing to do in summer… she lays her tush in a little hole another dog was kind enough to dig for her (she is way too much of a lady to dig!)   And watch people go by. Barking at them occasionally when they are accompanied by a dog, but stops barking when told.   Rosie is extremely smart and very willing to please.   She is electric fenced trained, loves car rides, enjoys sleeping beside her families bed, likes chewies, is crate trained but honestly doesn’t need it as she is 100% house trained (would never think about doing anything in the house) and   has never damaged anything more than her own ball.

Please consider making Rosie your new family member…   In return she will give you years of ball throwing and love!

Rosie's adoption fee is only $175.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
