Description:
Update 5/30/09: Priscilla is a calm, good-natured boxer/sharpei mix. She is approx 6 months old and weighs about 30 pounds. She and her brother Elvis were rescued from the Gratiot County animal control. The shelter was going to sell them to a research broker but our rescue got them out just in time as the broker was on his way to pick them up. Even though she is a puppy, she does not have the destructive behaviors typical of one and is completely housebroken. She also rarely barks, even when her foster brother and sister are barking up a storm. She loves to play with her toys and run around the backyard, but hasn’t quite learned to play fetch yet. She will come when she is called and always sticks by her foster parents when outside. Priscilla does fine in a crate, but would much prefer to be with her owners. She is content at night on the floor in her bed and loves to wake you up in the morning with kisses. Priscilla is wonderful with other dogs, people and children. She has been on a few outings and to a parade and was extremely well behaved everywhere she went. She got quite a few compliments too as she is pretty adorable! She can’t wait to find that permanent family to call her own! Update 5/1/2009: This is Priscilla. She is a sweetheart of a smaller size dog. She and her brother Elvis were in Gratiot County Animal Control (one of only two shelter left in Michigan that sell their animals to a research broker who turns around and sells them to research labs for a huge profit! he gets rich off the long-term suffering of animals.) We got them out just in time -- he was coming for them that same day, Priscilla is 5 and a half months old, weighs 28 pounds so will only be a medium size when full grown. She is a mix of many breeds, but the mix turned out great as she is so sweet and eager to please, playful, and loves people and other dogs. Priscilla is waiting for someone to love and care for her. She will return your love more then 100%!

Your sponsorship will help us provide shelter, food, vetting and tender loving care for our dogs until they find new loving homes. *DISCLAIMER: We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.
*PLEASE NOTE: We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Priscilla - Pendin (click to see larger version):
