Description:
Meet Molly also known as Baby Moose! Molly is a precious girl who is about 6-7 years old and weighs 85 pounds. She has a loving personality and disposition and is happy being near you or just spending time relaxing on her own. She gets along excellently with her foster canine sister and brother. She enjoys meeting new dogs and hasn't come across one she hasn't liked yet; big, small, male or female and should have a fur friend in her forever home. She takes on a mother role with some dogs and will groom them from time to time. Molly equally enjoys meeting new people or when company visits-always approaching with her tail wagging. She is not a dominant girl and will learn her place in the pack very quickly and easily. She would do well in a routined household.
Molly is an overall quiet dog. She may follow the instigation of other dogs in the house such as barking when strangers are passing by or knocking on the door, but on her own, she doesn't pay much attention and would not make a good watchdog. She gets a little vocal when it's time to go for a walk as this is her most favorite thing in the world to do and it is actually quite endearing! She should have regular walks and does well on leash. She knows how to pace herself so she doesn't tire out too quickly because she will walk as long as you like. She's not the best passenger while in a car as she is too anxious to get to where you are going and every ride to her seems to mean 'going for a walk in the park', so she will whine and act inpatient. Being a hound, Molly should have a fenced in back yard with room to roam around when the fancy strikes her but she really prefers to spend most of her time inside on her favorite chair. She will enjoy the sun then some shade laying on a comfy blanket or matt outside on a nice day. She is not much of a cuddler, but enjoys knowing you are there and isn't opposed to sometimes laying by your side on the couch. She seems to be ok with cats she has met but should meet any cats in a potential forever home first. She will run after a bunny or squirrel in the yard. Molly is completely housebroken and rings a bell to go outside most of the time, but will also come to you then walk to the door. She will lightly scratch the door or give a soft whine when she wants to come in from outside. She is great in crate too and goes night night on her own or when told it`s bedtime. She could be left out at night but will wander about the house, in crate she sleeps through the night. Molly is on a timely feeding schedule and this will suit her best. She is very gentle and kind with children, but children over 10 are preferred because she will paw to get petted and she sleeps very soundly, so a child approaching her while in sleep may startle her. Molly doesn't really play much with toys but will on occasion take a stuffed animal and shake it around for a moment. She will get a little playful now and then with the other dogs in the house, but doesn't hold the interest long. Molly gets a belly rub each night before bed and truly enjoys that. She doesn't mind getting brushed and does well getting a bath. If you provide a log in your yard she will consistently use that area for her business. She knows how to 'sit' for a treat and is learning to 'shake'. We don't know anything about Molly's life before coming to the rescue, but feel something happened in her past involving fire as she is terrified of fire and the smell of smoke. She recently had a check up and is in good health. She could use a basic dental and should lose a few pounds which we are working on, regular walks will help keep her in shape and at a good weight. All around, Molly is basically a couch potato with a very gentle kindred spirit who enjoys being in a loving home where she is treated as part of the family whether she is in her independant or social moods. Please ask us about her! Molly's adoption fee is $150 Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Molly - ADOPTED (Missing Contract) (click to see larger version):
