 Update 1/28/10
Marlaina would do well with a home that had a lab or other active dog to keep her company! She rarely barks and when she does it is a very large Great Dane style, "Woof!".  She is an active player, and does get vocal with her play growling when she is goofing around!! Please consider Marlaina to join your family!!

Marlaina is eager to please everyone, and tries hard to do exactly what she is asked,
even if she does not know what it is.  She crates easily, knows all basic commands, is
very well behaved in the house, has never had an accident inside, and even follows hand
signals to sit and wait. She rides well in the car, crated or harnessed, and will jump in
the back, middle or wherever you ask her to. Even though she is a big girl, she is quite
gentle and walks well on a short leash.  If she is let out into the fenced in area, she
does work off her extra energy by  running around like a young puppy, but call her name
and ask her to sit and she does calm down quickly.

She has a beautiful medium coat that is mostly white with tan markings, with some flecks
of black and dark brown.  She has very pretty light blue eyes. Marlaina has a genetic eye
condition that occurs in Merle coated dogs, but has good vision and there is no treatment
needed in order for her to live a happy normal life.

This goofy and loveable dog loves to play play play with other dogs whenever she can.
She is especially good and gentle with cats, even cats who are known to be a bit
particular about dogs. She is a typical Dane personality, always thinking she is a lap
dog and loving to cuddle whenever she is allowed. Although she is large boned and tall,
she is not all that heavy, she weighs around 75#s and is fully grown. She is respectful
of children, but is not recommended for children under five because of her size. She
would do best in a home with another mid to large sized dog that enjoys a good romp as
much as she does.

Marlaina is UTD on shots, HW negative and considered very healthy.  If you are interested

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
