Description:

11/28/2009: We adopted our Border Collie Courage from you and Carolyn Kieft brought him to us on October 13.

I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with the adoption and the loving care that Carolyn and Heath gave to him as they nursed him back to health.  He is healthy and happy, calm (for a Border Collie!) and sweet.

We have changed his name to Laddie, and he comes to it well.  He is loving sniffing out mice on our trails (and even caught one!) and trotting along with us on our daily walks.  And of course, he really likes his squeaky toys -- Carolyn sent several with him, bless her heart, and we have purchased more.

We know not all of your placements will be easy, but wanted to thank you for placing this wonderful dog with us.  And for having someone as caring as Carolyn to take care of him until he found his forever home.

Sincerely,

Adopters! (name not listed for privacy purposes)

9/1/2009: Courage is a pure bred border collie is ,very smart. and is four years old. He weighs about 50 lbs and will have a beautiful coat once he is cleaned up and brushed. We think Courage would do better in a home with just female dogs .

A Note from Last Day Dog Rescue:
This wonderful dog is just one of many in our care right now. Your sponsorship will help us provide shelter, food, vetting and tender loving care for our dogs until they find new loving homes. Adoption fees do not cover our expenses, so your sponsorship will make a positive impact on our organization and especially on our dogs’ well being. We are not a chapter or affiliate of any national animal organization. We are, moreover, very grateful for your generosity. Please click to sponsor this great dog! Thank you!

*DISCLAIMER:

We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.

*PLEASE NOTE:

We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.

*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION.

*WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
