MEET COOKIE!
Cookie is a very nice girl who is looking for her forever home! She weighs about 35 pounds and approx 5 years old. Cookie is very nice and well mannered too. She likes to play and does well with the dogs in her foster homes, however, when she has attended some adoption events she hasn't liked the other dogs at the event. We think the shows are stressful for Cookie, so she will not be going to other shows. She is likely more an alpha girl tho but can adjust to a dog in her forever home~we feel confident of that, and will do ok as an only dog too. Cookie loves rawhides and large bones to chew on. She will play with some stuffed toys but prefers to rough them up and destroy them! She loves to stay close to her person just hanging out with you. She is learning commands such as sit and stay but as long as she is with you, they aren't necessary as she will just relax near you. Cookie has come along way with her housetraining altho if left alone for long hours, she may have an accident in the home. She doesn't like to be crated but once in it, she is fine, she will not dirty her crate. Cookie doesn't jump up on you and is an all around good girl! Cookie will need a home with a privacy fenced yard or be on a very secure tie out with a family who is willing to take her out on a leash regularly for exercising and play time as she can climb a standard fence. Cookie is a little older and set in her ways but she can learn rules of a new home. Cookie is great with cats, just ignores them, but she will get in the litter box if she is allowed. She is also very good with children. Cookie may bolt out an open door but has gotten better in her foster home, however, this will be something she may have to relearn in a new home and will take consistency from her family. Cookie doesn't care much for getting a bath, but is good about being brushed out. She has no aggressions or fear responses to people. Cookie is a great front seat passenger in the car! Cookie was born with one eye socket bigger than the other. This condition does not bother her and does not hinder her eyesight and we hope won't deter you from considering this great girl! She deserves her forever home and family no less than any other dog! Please ask us about her!

A Note from Last Day Dog Rescue: This wonderful dog is just one of many in our care right now. Your sponsorship will help us provide shelter, food, vetting, and tender loving care for our dogs until they find new loving homes. Adoption fees do not cover our expenses, so your sponsorship will make a positive impact on our organization and especially on our dogs’ well being. We are not a chapter or affiliate of any national animal organization. We are, moreover, very grateful for your generosity. Please click to sponsor this great dog! Thank you!
*DISCLAIMER: We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.
*PLEASE NOTE: We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.
*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION. *WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Cookie (click to see larger version):
