Description:

. Buster and his little friend Freckles are once again another victim of our lousy Michigan economy. His owners lost their home and were forced into living in a camper . We got them both out on the day they were to be put down due to lack of room at this small shelter. Buster is a wonderful boxer mix , he has the attirbutes you want in a dog, loyal, smart, housebroken, and good with kids, cats and dogs. He weighs about 50 lbs, and is about a year and a half. We have learned that buster knows many commands like sit, stay, roll over etc .

UPDATE FROM FOSTER:

Buster is a well behaved boy that someone put some time into before LDDR received him. It only took a little bit to settle him down, but he then made himself right at home. So much so that we will have to "correct" some behaviors while he is with us. He came from a home where he must have been allowed on the couch and the bed to sleep, but a simple no has him behaving like a wonder dog that he is. Don't let those sad eyes fool you, he may look sad, but he is just as happy by you on the floor. He does like to follow you from room to room to see what you are doing, this may stop, but it was nice to see him happily following and wanting to play and be petted. Absolutely wonderful with my kids! He wanted to give them kisses constantly! My daughter is almost 5 and my son is barely 3, he did not jump on them at all, just kisses (once calming down from arriving). A simple "no" and buster let them be (I'm talking kisses kisses kisses :o) He also ate along side my senior of 11 yrs (cocker) with no issues, he ate and he left before she was done, I was more worried about her wanting to eat his food! He was crated at night, not knowing his behaviors while left alone for hours while sleeping, not one whimper or whine, perfect behavior on the first night, so unbelievable!! Woke up happy as can be. I did take him for a jog also, if you are active he would benefit from this totally (and so will you :o), he will be a perfect jogging companion with just little work.

*DISCLAIMER:

We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.

*PLEASE NOTE:

We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.

*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION.

*WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
