Description:
Hi guys, my name is Brego!
I didn't have a great start at life. My first owner wanted me to have cropped ears. As you can see, they didn't have it professionally done. I couldn't see how they were doing it, but I do know that it hurt very badly. I suspect they used a knife or scissors.
I found the perfect opportunity, when they weren't looking, to run away. I was free! I didn't know where I was going but anywhere was better than there. Until one day, an animal control officer picked me up. I was hungry and cold, so I was happy to be off the streets.
I soon became their favorite dog at DACC. All the volunteers loved me! They would take me home for sleep overs and it was fun! I would get to play with their dogs and learn tricks! I love playing with dogs! Adopters would walk by my kennel and I would be so excited, praying someone would take me. But they kept walking on to the next kennel. Maybe it's the way I looked? Maybe they thought I was happy at the shelter? I always licked their face, I didn't understand why they didn't love me like the volunteers.
Then... sadly, my time was up there. Other dogs coming in needed my kennel. The volunteers didn't want to see me euthanized for space, so they reached out to Last Day Dog Rescue.
And here we are today! I'm in my foster home and I love it! There's other dogs here and a cat. I'm the perfect guest! Despite my past, I'm the sweetest boy. I just love everyone.
I really want my own home for the holidays. I'd love a forever home that will snuggle with me in this cold weather. Is that with you?
Please apply for me!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Brego - ADOPTED 11.14.19 (click to see larger version):
