Description:
My name is Dublin and I’m a gorgeous Silver Lab.

I showed up at Detroit Animal Care and Control and couldn't figure out where my family went. For weeks I waited, hoping they would come get me. I sure missed my yard..and my toys. The shelter became loud and scary, so I sat in the corner of my kennel. At night it was dark, and still loud, because not everyone knew it was bed time. At this point, I wanted any family to come get me.

Then one day, my foster walked up to my kennel, put a lead around my neck and loaded me in the car! It was the best day.  My foster mom says I ride so nicely in the car.

I've been hanging out at her house, and I'll tell ya it's pretty nice!  I love the little dogs they have here. I just want to play with them, but I'm much bigger. I'd love another dog friend to wrestle with!  They also have these little things called cats here. I accidentally thought it was a toy...or a squirrel! They look so much like squirrels, I can't help it. I probably wouldn't be so great in a home with cats.

When my foster parents leave, I hangout in my room. Yup, got my own suite here; much bigger than the shelter. I play with my toys, eat my bones and sleep on my dog bed. I don't bother anything and keep to myself until they get back.
When they get back its so fun! We play fetch for hours. They got me these great toys! I love toys...oh, how I missed toys...
They don't have a fenced in yard, but I tell ya, that sure would be nice. Its not requires but I'd love it. I'm very energetic and I love to run, run, run. Maybe that's why my last family didn't come back to get me, because I'm a big hyper goof ball.  I know to go potty outside, which my foster mom said is great for the rugs! I  also know a few commands like Sit and Paw.

Ohh, I could go on and on talking about myself but what I'd really love is for someone very nice and active to adopt me. I'm the best behaved dog, and don't want to end up in a shelter again.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
