Description:
Hi I'm Peppermint, but you can just call me Pepper. I am a young female Aussie mix. Aussies were bred to herd other animals so we have a lot of energy. I'm not as hyper as some might be (I do LOVE to cuddle!), but I will still need a family that can promise me lots of walks. If you are into running or hiking, that would be even better!

I ended up in the pound after I was thrown out of a truck. My foster mom thinks that whoever had me before I was picked up didn't treat me very well. But I don't hold that against humans. I love my foster family very much and love all people that I've met. Another dog in the house got picked up by his new family and I got to meet his 7 year old boy. I was friendly with him too!

I do need slow introductions with new dogs. I have been living with two male dogs that are extremely friendly and easy going. At first I was unsure of them when they were on the other side of the gate. Now that I've spent some more time around them, I think I actually like them. Sometimes I get jealous or annoyed at them and will snap or snarl, but I've never tried to bite them. My one brother is close to my size and very friendly so I actually really love playing with him now! I would be happy to live with another dog, as long as he or she is very friendly, like my foster brother. I've been through a lot so I'd need a sibling with patience! Because I'm a little uncertain of new dogs and take time to like them, I probably shouldn't be taken to places like a dog park. I might learn in the future that other dogs are friendly, but I need to feel comfortable in my new life before I get to that point.

Because I need time to warm up to new dogs and plenty of exercise, my foster mom says I should not get adopted into an apartment. If you'd like to meet me, just fill out an application!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
