Description:
Hello! My name is Tres. I am a one year old, male neutered pit bull mix looking for my forever home. I am originally from Louisiana where I was most likely displaced from my owners during the big flood. A Good Samaritan found me after I was hit by a car and brought me to the LSU Vet School. Everyone at LSU fell in love with me and couldn't bear the thought of euthanizing me. They took x-rays and found a broken femur so my leg was amputated. It's really hard for me to find a home here in LA because there are so many animals displaced after the flood that everywhere is full. I am a very good boy and deserve a loving home. My foster mom just moved here to be a veterinarian and brought me here hoping I would find someone to adopt me. I am very well behaved and loyal. I sometimes get into innocent puppy trouble but I listen well and learn quickly. Slippery floors scared me right after my surgery but now I run around on them so fast that you would never know that I only have 3-legs. I love to cuddle, go for walks and play fetch. When I am in public I am very social and like to meet everyone; I do not bark or jump. I am really good with other dogs and would love to find a brother or sister to play with. I can't quite figure out cats and I'm not sure how to act around them yet, but my foster mom thinks that with time and a proper introduction I will be okay in a home with cats. I am house trained and crate trained. I just learned how to sit and my foster mom & dad work on new tricks with me every day. Please consider me for your home. I had a rough beginning but I am an absolute sweetheart that really wants to find a home. I am up-to-date on vaccinations and am heartworm free. I promise to love you forever if given the chance. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Tres - ADOPTED 04.21.17 (click to see larger version):
