Description:
Sparty is new to us. We are unsure of his breed, he looks like a small, 32 lb Shepard Mix with a curly tail. The shelter said he is a very cute and sweet little boy, so how could we resist saving him?
Sparty IS a sweet, loveable pup who is very smart. He is doing very well with housebreaking. Sparty lives with three other dogs and follows their lead-from housebreaking, to going up and down stairs, waiting his turn for treats, and riding in the car. He comes when called, is happy in his crate, knows sit and we are working on sit up. Sparty is a typical pup. For instance, he is learning to sit for hugs (as opposed to jumping up), can be slightly mouthy but getting better. He is on the quiet side, likes to lay around and chew bones after a play session, likes toys, dog beds to nap on, etc. Sparty goes with my dogs to another foster’s farm for daycare two time per week where there may be eight larger dogs to play with of all ages. He is half the size of most of them (shhh…we won’t tell him) and gets along fine. Sparty would enjoy another well-adjusted dog to play with and a family to teach him how to be a great dog citizen. A fenced yard for him to putter and play in is a plus. For more information please contact his foster Denise at deemworden@gmail.com Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive preference. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs/cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat’s shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs and cats MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs and cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog or cat.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Sparty - ADOPTED 7.23.16 (click to see larger version):
