Hi, My name is Ruger! PLEASE read my bio before applying for me!
I was saved from a high kill shelter and now live in a foster home with 3 other dogs and a cat. I love my dog friends & I am VERY high energy. I need a home that is active and preferably with a fenced in yard. I like to run, run, run. You'll be surprised how fast my little legs can go. Speaking of little, I'm short. I'm only about 3 inches off the ground. I have a Corgi type body style, but a Flat Coat Retriever face and fur.
I am good with kids but would do better in a home with kids older than 10; any toy left on the ground will be mine to destroy (and potentially to swallow and eat). For my own safety, kids who are old enough to pick their things up off the ground would be best for me.
I am crated when my foster mom leaves the house and I like to bark when she does, maybe because my friends get to roam the house and I don't. For this reason, I'm not a good candidate to live in an apartment. I am doing VERY VERY well on potty training. so far, no accidents! Remember, I need to be let out OFTEN!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs/cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat’s shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs and cats MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs and cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog or cat.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs and cats. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.
