Minx currently needs a foster, he needs someone who can get him the exercise he needs and work with him on his training!
Minx is a ball of energy. He definitely has noticeable traits of a Jack Russel Terrier. He LOVES to chase a tennis ball. He would love to live somewhere where he can have a safe and secure backyard to run in. If that isn't possible, trips to the dog park and lots of walks/runs will be a must. He needs to get his energy out daily so he will be a happy positive pup. He has lived with other dogs and cats before. He would chase the kitten when he was instigated, but would not chase for no reason. He is rather dominant when he plays, he will need to be with other dogs that are more on the submissive side or a dog that will put him in his place to avoid problems. He was in a training class recently and did very well around the other dogs. He is crated when we are not home. He does have some pee accidents in his crate occasionally, he is still a puppy and he will get past that soon. He has not had a potty accident in the house outside of the crate in quite some time. He knows how to sit and we are working on stay. He will do anything for his tennis ball! He will not be a large dog-maybe 40lbs when full grown. Minx will need obedience training and it will be a must when adopted. He has so much energy he needs to learn his boundaries and to be able to control his impulses with the help from training. I could see Minx doing agility training in his future or perhaps swimming. He will be a very active dog due to his breed and will need an active family. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
