Louie's Sponsorship Page
![]() Louie is a 9-month-old male tuxedo cat with a playful spirit and a loving heart. We rescued him from a less than ideal living situation in a dorm room where he spent most of his life confined to a small crate, but he has quickly settled into foster life and has been an absolute joy. This handsome boy is neutered and litter trained. He loves watching the world from his window perch, exploring new rooms, and chasing a feather or laser pointer. He is confident and social, and always excited to meet someone new. That being said, because he did not grow up around other cats, he can easily get overstimulated and start to play too rough/bite too hard with hands and feet. While part of this is just adolescent behavior, Louie would generally benefit from an experienced and patient adopter that can gently redirect his biting to his feather toys and other types of play. Based on Louie’s past neglect, he would benefit from someone who is home more than they are not and can provide him with a predictable schedule; Louie can still be successful with someone who works full time in office, but you have to want to commit intentional time each and every morning/evening to playing and bonding with him for him to be fulfilled. Like most cats, Louie is most active in the early morning and late evening, and sleeps nicely most of the work day if played with properly. Due to his need for companionship, Louie would thrive in a home with another friendly cat or several, as he seems curious about and friendly towards our other cats. We haven’t introduced him to our dogs, but based on his temperament we believe he would do well with a respectful, cat-savvy pup. Due to his rough and tumble play style and tendency to play bite unpredictably, we would not recommend a home with small children or older children who are not familiar with cat behavior. If you have any interest in doing a meet and greet with Louie, please submit an application and ask for “Louie”! We would love to have him in his forever home for the holidays.
