Description:Other Pictures of Frida (CP) (click to see larger version):
Frida (aka Reba) is a 1 yr old, 35lb, Kelpie/Husky and/or Shepard mix. She is very energetic, intelligent, curious, and highly trainable. Frida has TONS of personality and love to give. She is very affectionate and would make a great working dog or companion for someone with a very active lifestyle. She wants to be someone's shadow and go, go, go.
As you would expect from a working breed/herding dog, Frida likes to be in charge, can be overly bossy and needs a job to help channel her energy. She currently plays fetch and would also be great at agility, flyball, or frisbee. She loves leaping to catch things in midair and is a good climber.
Due to limited socialization, prior to going to a foster home, Frida is in need of positive socialization experiences with dogs and people. Prior to her foster home, Frida spent most of her day in a crate and her only socialization was the dog park. She is training to overcome resource related fear aggression, which will need to continue . As a result, Frida would prefer to be an only pet, so she can focus on training and building confidence. She may pair well with an experienced handler and other working breed dogs her size or larger. She does not like cats. She would not be suited for a home with small children due to herding instincts.
A fully fenced yard and working breed experience are required. Frida is spayed, UTD on shots, flea and heartworm meds. She is also microchipped.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.
