My husband and I adopted Austin at the end of February 2011 and we liked the name the foster mom gave him so much we decided to keep it. He is such a happy, healthy and loving dog that has brought us so much joy! We are so grateful to LDDR for saving him from the high kill shelter he was found in...he is truly the best dog we could have asked for! We still get comments from friends and family on how adorable, smart and well behaved he is. Sometimes I honestly believe he knows how others are feeling (whether it be sad, sick, hurt or scared) and wants to make it better...and the majority of the time he does. Some might say that he is one lucky dog but it's most definitely the other way around...my husband and I are the lucky ones.

We adopted "Od Litter Calum". We renamed him "Bruiser". He is fitting in perfectly. He loves to cuddle! He is very intelligent. We already taught him to sit and stay. The housebreaking is no problem. Me and my husband couldn't be happier!

We adopted Earnhardt almost a month now. He is the best.. He is a happy dog and is learning to get along with the boys(cats).. He has grown alot. Taller and just as active. He is losing his puppy teeth now.

Back in June, I was blessed when I was chosen to be the one to adopt Lillie Rose from LDDR. I am so very thankful and my husband and I just love her. She is a great dog and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of her. We have so much fun together and she makes me laugh out loud. She really likes going for a walk so we do that everyday if not twice a day. I have had a private obedience trainer come to our house to help me train her and she was just great to work with. My husband and I even installed a fence in our backyard in October to keep Lillie safe and so she can run around in the backyard. We took Lillie on vacation with us this year and we all had a great time! In fact, we take her everywhere we possible can with us. She also enjoys going up north to my parent’s house. They live in a beautiful area and it’s a wonderful place to take long peaceful walks with Lillie and there are a lot of good smells for her up north. She has been on many boat rides and enjoys digging holes in sandy beaches and splashing in the water. She is my little pride and joy and has made my life complete. My husband and I absolutely adore her. We are so very thankful that she is a part of our family. Thank You!!

Hello! i have an update: we fostered 7 doggies (AD litter) and they where adopted late july/early september my aunt adopted one whitch was great! truffle is now truffle, YoYo is now ramsy willy is now velvet the rest we don't know about the rest. we have been e mailing YoYo and looking at pics, so cute! yoyo is now 11 pounds and truffle is around 25 :)! sooooo cue! it took alot of work and time but seeing thoes little guys at 10 days o my godness! it started getting hard at 4 weeks when they wanted to be out all the time. but seeing the look on the people's face when they got to hold the puppie when if was really thiers was great the people who got the mom are very happy also thanks for reading!

we just finished fostering a 6 puppie litter and thier mom one of the best expirences of my life! they where so cute, we got them at ten days old! the big one was 1.6 pounds Truffle and the smallest was 1.1 pounds YoYo we had 3 blond 1 brown and 2 black. I miss them all! it was great it took alot of work..... but it was just great! i rember how when you would open the cage the would all run out and pee on the carpet if you did not catch them:) sooooooo cute i would suggest it to anyone who is thinking about it

I just wanted to share our amazing experience we had with Last Day Dog Rescue. We had been looking for a new forever family member for a couple of months and that all ended when we saw Snooki (now she's Lucy). We filled out the app and took a 2 hr road trip to meet this sweet little girl. My son and I took her for a walk and while we were discussing adopting her she sat and tilted her head almost as if she knew exactly what we were saying...at that moment a leaf blew by and she turned to pounce on it. Well that cuteness sealed the deal. Now that she's free of worms (yuck), she's put on a few pounds and is a healthy, happy 7 month old crazy mix. She loves her new canine brother and her two feline brothers. Thanks so much to your organization for your dedication to giving these deserving animals a shot at a happy and healthy future!!

On June 26, 2010 we adopted our little queen, "Gloria". My husband and I have been married for 28 years and have always had a dog. After losing our 14-1/2 year old Pomeranian to a collapsing trachea we were lost and very sad. Gloria has filled our home with joy and love again. She's such a joy to have. Everyone that meets her just loves her. I dare say that most of the dogs are A LOT more adaptable than most humans could ever be! She's slept in the bed with us from day one. And she's taken over the sofa pillows. When I find my husband using one of the pillows I tease him by saying, "I won't tell Gloria that you're touching her pillows!" : ) HA! HA! Our 11-yr-old rottie Sasha passed away recently and we were lost, she was very special to us and we were missing her companionship, along with our puppy Giselle. I happened across Mr. Brutus' profile on Petfinder and his bio sounded perfect for our family. When we took Giselle out to meet him, she was in love! And honestly, after spending some time with Mr. Brutus, we were too... he came home on Aug 18 and is already a part of the family, my two kids adore him and he and Giselle are now best buds. We would like to send a special "thank you" out to his foster mom, Tracy, for taking such good care of he and his brother Rome and nursing them back to health... not only did Mr. Brutus get a new name (he is now 'Diesel'), he got a new lease on life!

We've had Elton, now Elvis for just over a week now and that cute as heck, sweet boy makes us laugh throughout each day!!! He LOVES just walking around with a bone in his mouth. He hardly chews on it cuz he is just so content to walk around with it in his mouth! His cute little Rott butt with his nubby tail just a wiggeling away. My husband and I had been looking for a dog for about 6 months and were becoming frustrated with rescues. (The lack of response, the attitude we got because we had never owned a dog before etc...) After e-mailing LDDR on a whim to see a dog - we were shocked when we got a prompt, friendly response. From the first e-mail to the enjoyable home visit to the excited e-mails I can send April (the foster mom that had the perfect dog for us) we've had nothing but an excellent experience with LDDR. We got so lucky to find such a great rescue and the perfect dog for us. Chance loves all the kids in our neighborhood, he sleeps on our feet, he follows us everywhere with his tail wagging and he brings us joy on a daily basis. We love the LDDR.

I started looking at all the dogs and found Awgie who my wfe and I have submitted an application to adopt. We are lost with out a dog with having one every year of our 43 year marriage.
