Description:
This little guy is Rooney. Rooney was chained outside and being completely neglected by his owners. A fellow rescuer talked the owners into surrendering him and LDDR was able to bring him in and get him healthy. Rooney was covered with flea bites and had some other skin issues that have healed up nicely. His coat has filled in and his good looks shine more now!

Rooney is all puppy! He loves everyone he meets and makes it a point, in puppy fashion, to let them know it. He likes to give kisses and cuddle at the end of the day. He is currently living with two young kids as well as a few k9 friends and is great with all of them. Rooney, like all puppies, needs a firm and consistent owner who will help him develop into the well behaved adult he is meant to be, therefore he would definitely benefit from obedience training and preference will be given to those who are committed to doing so.... Rooney loves food and will often scarf his down so quickly that I think he actually doesn't remember eating it. Throwing some inedible chew bones in there has helped slow him down. We don't believe Rooney will be very big but he will be solid nonetheless. If you are looking for an active, want to be by your side, in your face-lover boy, Rooney is for you.

Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive  preference

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
