Description:
If you are looking for a big, sweet, goofy, puppy with tons of love to give you will find it in Almond. She is a smart, fun loving girl who is still learning how big she is.  She loves everyone one she meets-humans, cats and dogs.

Almond's first owners thought she was too big to play with their smal dogs and kids so she spent a majority of her life in an outdoor crate. She is so happy to be part of her foster family and is always looking to play or be loved on. Since this is her first experience with family life she needs some help learning the rules. Almond is eager to please her people so she responds to corrections quickly.

Almond is the type of dog that has tons of energy and loves to run around and play. Almond loves to play fetch and will need a fenced yard to play in. When playing outside she will quickly follows you inside when ready.  She is eager to learn and would benefit from some training with her new family. She knows basic commands and has learned to sit before going outside or receiving treats, and/or her food.

Almond is learning to walk on a leash.  She is crate trained and potty trained in the house, although she is typically put in her crate when leaving the house. Give her a bone or toy and she will settle down. She is friendly to everyone she meets, but is learning not to jump up to greet people.

Almond would probably be better with dogs her own size or larger, because she loves to play and doesn’t realize how big she is. Almond would be a great family dog, her foster family has a 3 year old, but her high energy can be overwhelming for small children and she may knock them down.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
