Description:
Brahms is a happy cat, always purring when people walk in the room. She was named Brahms after Brahms' lullaby because she will literally purr herself to sleep. She's very social and loves to meet people and make herself at home next to them or on their laps. She is not very active in terms of playing and stimulation. She'll be happy just to sit by you or perch herself high up and watch the action. While Brahms has her claws, she does not seem to scratch furniture. She has a cat condo / scratching post which can accompany her to her forever home.

Brahms is ok with dogs, but would likely prefer a home with no dogs. Her first week here, the sight or sound of the dog (who basically ignored her) sent Brahms running to hide. Now, two weeks in, she will come out to greet her people even if the dog is there. She will sleep on one end of the bed while the dog is on the other end and has no issues walking past the dog; they have basically become indifferent to each other. She seems fine with cats and kids.

Brahms is highly food-motivated, and we are a-ok with that as she needs to gain weight. Though her regular diet consists of a kibble and the fancy feast canned food, her favorite treats are shredded cheese or hamburger crumbles.

Brahms is a sweet cat who needs her forever family! She loves to be loved and given attention. Brahms was found wandering in Oakland Township in a volunteer's yard. We believe she was dumped by a former owner and had been a stray for a while, as she was skin and bones when she came to us. We considered making her a "barn cat", but that is just not her personality -- she loves to be around people!

Brahms is making great progress. Please consider making Brahms a part of your home!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs/Cats MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs/cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog/cat.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
