Description:

Miss Marla is a people lover!  She is just happy to be sitting at your feet, or curled up next to you on the couch, & would lay there and let you pet on her all day long.  She knows to sit before getting her treats, & we're working on more commands.  She's a calm girl & loves her nylabones.  She hasn't chewed anything in the house besides her toys.  She's been very well behaved in the house & is crate trained & housebroken. She is small for her mix & is the perfect sized little snuggle buddy & loves to have her belly rubbed. You can tell she is a people pleaser. When teaching her things, she sits attentively & watches you for guidance.  She's very smart & would be an excellent student if you wanted to teach her tricks.  She gets excited on a leash & we are working on improving her leash skills.

Marla came from a kill shelter, where her owner abandoned her with her 6 month old daughter, Leni, & she does not seem to like large dogs.  She previously lived in a household with dogs her own size and a couple of Chihuahuas, but hadn't been exposed to bigger dogs. Marla does take a few days to get used to new dogs. She would love to be someone's spoiled only-furchild, or be the big sister to smaller dogs, & would repay you with lots of soft doggie kisses!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
