Description:

Hello! My name is Dakota and I am about 7 years old. I came to LDDR when my parents could no longer care for me. I wasn't able to play outside a lot before and I wasn't given much attention. I am looking for a foster home or better yet a forever home.

I love to play with  my toys!! My foster mom had given me so many to entertain myself. I would love to chase the ball when she would throw it. I was working on "Drop it." I do it sometimes. Practice makes perfect though! My foster mom said I was really good about going outside to potty. I would tell her I have to go by dancing around. All she would have to say is "You gotta go potty?" and I would run to the door! She also crate trained me. When she would have to leave for work, she would give me a super yummy KONG filled with treats in my crate. She would tell me "Crate" and I would run to my little home.  I loved my KONG treat and would occupy my time with that while she is at work.

I am a little too interested in cats. So a home without them would be a better fit for me. I do need some discipline and a person who is patient with me. I am an older little guy and have been experiencing seizures. I take meds for them twice a day and that has helped. I may have a little arthritis but that doesn't slow me down. I love to go on walks, run around the house and jump on the couch and cuddle with you. I get along with my doggie friends.

Can you give me a loving and calm place to call home?

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
