Description:
Genie is a fantastic dog! She is friendly, affectionate, smart, eager to learn and to please, and completely housebroken. She can be left loose in the house and she doesn't touch anything that she isn't supposed to. She plays nicely with my dogs, doesn't bother the cats, and she takes treats very gently from my hands. She is a very quick learner! In just a short time she has learned to sit on command, shake hands on command, and lay down on command, all in exchange for a treat. She is very good about coming when called and she likes to hang out laying on the floor near where I am. We took Genie to the dog park and she very good, was polite to other dogs and people, didn't try to jump on anyone, and she played calmly with the other dogs. She kept an eye on where we were and came back and checked in with us often, never straying far from where we were. The most important thing that Genie needs to learn right now is to walk nicely on a leash without pulling. I haven't noticed Genie being overly energetic or having any trouble sitting or laying still. She has been very calm at our house, in the yard, in the car, and at the dog park. She listens well and minds well. I'm working on some obedience skills with her right now and I plan to start her in agility classes on Tuesday, July 24. I think Genie would make a great dog for obedience, agility, therapy dog work, or as a service dog. She just needs the appropriate training. She has the right personality for any of those things. Genie is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations and is spayed so she is all ready to go to her forever home!
