Description:
Dexter is a sweet, gentle, and wonderful dog! He is smart and knows basic commands-sit, stay and lay down. He loves to be around humans. He is great with kids too and does not jump up! He walks GREAT on a leash and rides wonderful in the car. He loves toys and treats and is gentle when taking them. He also loves a good belly rub! Dexter was well fed with his previous owner and could stand to go on a diet! If you need an exercise companion-he's your boy!!! Dexter has the protective nature of a Rott/German Shepard and would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who will teach him that it's okay to be social outside his family. Dexter would need a proper introduction to other dogs-he picks and chooses who he likes. Dexter is quiet, mild mannered temperament, and housebroken. He is still learning how to properly socialize with other doggie friends. He needs an experienced dog owner/foster to help him learn its okay to be around other dogs. He would love to find a family to call his own!

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
