Description:
My name “Honey Bunches” describes me very accurately. I’m a sweet, quiet, calm lady who loves to me petted. I rarely bark, am good on a leash and I’m crate trained although I’d really prefer to be free so I can keep you company. My favorite toys are rawhides, bones and chew toys. I’m so well-behaved that I don’t bother things that don’t belong to me. I do know some basic commands. I’d make a great search dog since I can find unopened bags of rawhide no matter where they’ve been hidden! Because I’m a typical hound, a fenced yard would be perfect to keep me from following my nose right off your property. I don’t bother cats but I would probably be best as your only dog because I need some improvement in my social skills--I like other dogs but I want to play all the time even when they want to rest and I can get a bit rough and dominant. The good news is that I am currently enrolled at the LDDR Board and Train program in Westland and the Better Life Canine Center volunteers are now working with me on improving my social skills.
I am allergic to chicken so I need a poultry free diet. I’m house trained but have had the occasional accident. I ride quietly and peacefully in a car but I do tend to get carsick unless I’m pre-medicated with the appropriate dose of Benadryl. This is a condition that I may eventually overcome.
I can be your walking partner, your playmate and also your snuggle buddy depending on what your desires are. I’m just waiting for you to invite me to be part of your family and give me my forever home.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do
our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
