Wyatt joined LDDR in Summer 2009.
3/15/10 UPDATE:
Wyatt is now around 75 lbs and he is not fond of cats and they should not be in his forever home. He is a strong boy and needs someone who can handle him! He loves to give hugs and kisses, and he knows how to sit. He will also sit down at crosswalks and wait until you say it is okay! He isn't much of a barker/howler inside the home, but he will tell you when someone is outside of the house. He has a lot of energy and needs room to run! He is an alpha male and would not be good with another unneutered or aggressive male. He likes to be in charge. His favorite toys are empty 2 liter bottles!! He is a lover and always wants to be near his human. He currently has an 8 foot fenced yard and is not able to get out of that height, so either that is needed or a zipline type of set up. He will let you know when he gets a whiff of a scent outside and would of course be an excellent hunter!! He has adapted well to being a majority inside dog at his foster home but an ideal forever home for him would be one where he is outside A LOT and able to follow that nose!!!
8/1/2009: Meet handsome lanky Wyatt! He is friendly, has a nice temperment, and will make a wonderful pet! Wyatt is a two year old hound. He is a neutered male. Usually with hound mixes, we recommend a fenced-in yard, but Wyatt has impressed us with his ability to climb fences, so we would not recommend leaving him in the yard unattended. Wyatt needs an owner who is willing to take him on regular walks and jogs, or use a tie-out or zipline for him.
He does not seem to be a barking baying hound like his breed sometimes is. We never heard a peep from him in his crate on a 3 hour trip! He is a purebred treeing coonhound who has a great face and personality. Wyatt weighs 50 lbs.
